Al presentar nuevamente la antigua posicion Catolica Romana sobre su postura hacia las otras Iglesia Cristianas, no se logra nada nuevo en este documento. Tampoco se refleja un entendimiento mas profundo de todo lo que se ha logrado a traves del dialogo ecumenico y la cooperacioon durante estos ultimos trienta años. Aunque este documento no sea parte de este proceso ecumenico, la idea que la iglesia Anglicana y otras iglesias no son "propiamente iglesias" parece poner en duda todo el avance ecumenico que se ha alcanzado.
