On the 6 July the eve of the G8 meeting, UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, addressed more than 2500 people yesterday evening at St Paul's Cathedral in London.

Expressing solidarity with the victims of today's bomb blasts in London, and total rejection of violent actions, World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Dr Samuel Kobia sent the following message to the churches and the people of the United Kingdom:"The news, images and stories of the terrorist attacks against civilians in London this morning filled my heart with sadness and concern.

St Paul's Cathedral is open for private prayer until 5pm today. The Bishop of London will attend a said Evensong service at 4pm. All people of faith and goodwill are welcome.

The Revd Guy Wilkinson has been appointed as National Inter Faith Relations Adviser and Secretary for Inter Faith Relations to the Archbishop of Canterbury. This new post combines the staff responsibilities of the national inter Faith work of the Church of England with support for Archbishop's work in this area.
