Gender justice: "We need to believe in the miracle of change"

A review of faith-based organisations’ work on gender justice in Southern Africa has resulted in a commitment to overcome barriers that is limiting the churches’ response. The commitment was made at a Gender and Faith Symposium organised by Christian Aid and Sonke Gender Justice.

Men and boys have role in fight for gender justice

The fight for “just and equal gender relationships” should not be left to women and girls; but must “fully involve” men and boys, the Anglican Consultative Council has said. It urged Anglican provinces to continue to empower “girls and boys, women and men, to live and work in relationships that reflect Christian values of love, dignity and justice.”

Theologian documents global scale of gender-based violence against women

A new book by the Anglican theologian Dr Elaine Storkey, which documents her extensive research on gender-based violence against women and the role that the church plays – for good or ill – in the struggle against the global problem, is being launched today in the Speaker’s rooms at the House of Commons in London.
