Unity, Faith and Order body welcomes Primates Meeting

The body responsible for promoting the deepening of communion between the churches of the Anglican Communion and its ecumenical partners has welcomed next month’s Primates Meeting in Canterbury, describing it as“an opportunity for a new, redeemed conversation within the Communion.”

Australian Anglicans seek end to detention for child refugees

The Anglican Church of Australia is calling for an end to children being kept in refugee detention centres by Christmas. In a statement, the chair of the Province’s Refugee and Asylum Seeker Working Group, Bishop Philip Huggins, urged Christians to “tap into the goodwill in our community, especially as Christmas approaches” by sponsoring child refugees.

From one in three to zero: MU's campaign as part of 16 days to end gender-based violence

The Anglican mission agency Mothers’ Union (MU) is taking part in the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence by campaigning for “one in three to zero” – for the number of women globally experiencing gender-based violence to drop from one in three to zero.
