The Revd Alfred Karibongi was elected the new Bishop of the Diocese of Hanuato'o on July 10 his election was announced by the Archbishop of the Church of Melanesia and the Council of Bishops who formalised the result during the recent Bishops meeting at TNK on north Guadalcanal where the election was held.

Dr Philip Freier, Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne, will be going without food tomorrow as he leads Melbourne Anglicans in a day of fasting and prayer - as a way of marking the half way point for reaching the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of halving world poverty by 2015.
