Now in its tenth year, the global prayer initiative 'Thy Kingdom Come' is set to pray for the needs of a broken world at Pentecost, with the theme of 'God with us'.

Running as an annual wave of prayer, from Ascension to Pentecost, participating churches and communities pray for others and share the hope of the Christian faith in their settings. Since it began, Thy Kingdom Come  has spread to 172 countries around the world and is supported by churches of 85 denominations.

Resources for 2026 will invite churches to join the wave of prayer between 14-24 May 2026, calling everyone to 'Pray for Five' people to discover more about the Christian faith.

The Most Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally, the new Archbishop of Canterbury, has expressed her support for Thy Kingdom Come and has written the Novena for 2026 on the theme of 'God with us'. This will be translated into a number of other languages for use around the Communion, from Mandarin to Albanian, Russian to Portuguese.

The Very Revd Robert Key is the Anglican Communion Lead for the initiative and says: 'As we  journey through Lent, making our pilgrimage towards the wonder of the Passion and the glory of the Resurrection, we see all around us the signs of a broken world and our great need for the reconciling, saving love of God in our Lord Jesus. Thy Kingdom Come can draw us together across our cultural or theological differences as we unite to obey the Lord’s great command to "Go and make disciples".  It is my hope and prayer that across our Provinces and Dioceses Anglicans will work together in mission to make the love of God known in our suffering world.'

A new App will go live just before Ascension and the website for TKC is available in up to 8 languages.
