The Anglican Communion Office in London is recruiting for a newly created post of Chief Operating Officer, to provide executive support to the Secretary General, Dr Josiah Idowu-Fearon. The COO will have primary responsibility for the management and administration of the Anglican Communion Office, the permanent secretariat serving the Anglican Consultative Council, the Primates Meeting and the Lambeth Conference, supporting the work of the Anglican Communion across the world and liaising with the office of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The ACO’s Director for Finance and Administration, Timothy Trimble, said: “The successful candidate will work closely with the Secretary General in giving a strategic direction to the work of the office. This is an exciting time for the ACO as it prepares for the next Primates Meeting this October, the Anglican Consultative Council in 2019 and, in the longer term, the Lambeth Conference in 2020.”
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate “exceptional leadership and management skills” as well as experience of “successfully operating at senior management level within a politically complex environment.” The role will require some national and international travel, occasionally to higher- risk locations. The deadline for applications is 7 February 2017.
