I’ll ride with you. These four simple words united strangers from all different walks of life in Perth tonight.
The viral hashtag — symbolising Australians would not allow innocent Muslims to be victimised — is restoring faith in a shaken humanity in the aftermath of the Sydney siege.
The inclusive nature of the message resonated in Wesley Church as more than 200 people banded together to commemorate the victims of the siege.
Representatives from the Anglican and Uniting Church as well as people from the Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish and Baha’i communities shared the interfaith ceremony.
Religion created no bounds as men in Jewish kippahs, women in burkas and Perth policemen sat side by side.
