Archbishop Justin Welby wrote:

"Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Many of you will be aware of the recent severe illness of Bishop Sammy Azariah, Moderator of Pakistan, who has required heart surgery. He and his brother Bishops in Pakistan bear the pressure of persecution and suffering.

I invite the whole Communion to pray to our Lord Jesus Christ for Bishop Sammy tomorrow, for his family, his church and his healing,

In the love of Christ
