Congregants from Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Nativity have donated a Toyota Noah valued at K32,000 to a Ndola priest whose leg was amputated in 2011.

Father Leonard Tembo served as an assistant priest from 2009 to 2012 at the Anglican Cathedral in Ndola.

He had his left leg amputated in August 2011 at Ndola Central Hospital after suffering from diabetes.

The congregants organised themselves and contributed money to buy the vehicle for the clergyman to ease his movements.

During the handover ceremony, Priest Warden Canon Joyce Musuka thanked the congregants for the generosity exhibited during the fundraising exercise for the vehicle.

"What you have done to our reverend, those who donated funds and the church clearly shows that you are disciples of Jesus Christ because you have done this out of true love," she said.
