As it announces the appointment of the Revd Robert Heaney, Ph.D. as the new Director of the Center for Anglican Communion Studies and Assistant Professor of Christian Mission, Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS), is also advertising for a new Director of Communications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and execution of a communications vision that serves a range of institutional priorities: student recruitment and retention, fundraising and alumni relations, internal communications, and media and public relations.

Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Director works closely with colleagues in the institution to craft and implement a multi-dimensional communications program across traditional and digital channels, including websites and social media, with an ability to identify, target and measure audience engagement.

The job descriptions states: "Candidates should have a proven ability for managing people and priorities, strong public relations skills, and a gift for superior expression—in idea, word, and graphic design. Candidates with knowledge of the Episcopal Church are encouraged to apply. Letters of application, CVs and three references should be sent to jobs@vts.edu"

VTS has long-established links with the Anglican Communion and boasts several leading Communion figures as alumni. Its Center for Anglican Communion Studies exists to support theological education, the engagement of Anglican Leaders and scholars in study, research and conversation, and interfaith dynamics across the Communion.

The closing date is 31 March, 2013. To learn more about the seminary, visit http://www.vts.edu
