The International Anglican Youth Network (IAYN) Steering Group had its annual meeting in Mexico City. The meeting was hosted by La Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico and convened at the Provincial Offices from 25 October to 3 November, 2010. It was attended by 5 delegates from America, Africa and Oceania regions.

IAYN plans to launch its new and exciting journal, Buenas Nuevas (Good News), during 2010 Advent.  The newsletter is available here. The Network intends to produce and distribute Buenas Nuevas on an annual basis.

The highlight of the Mexico meeting was the development of a resource titled, Ending Violence Against Young Women and Girls. Young Anglicans are encouraged to make use of this tool to take part in the UN year of youth: Our year, our voice. The IAYN invites young Anglicans across the Communion to reflect and act on the theme.

The resource is offered as a way for young people to look at the issue of violence towards young women and girls in a way that helps them explore the causes of this violence, what the Bible and Anglican tradition have to say about it, and to find ways of taking action to stop it. The resource has five steps which can be done over several meetings, as part of an ongoing young adult or youth programme, or used at a weekend retreat or camp.

Every Provincial Youth Office of the Anglican Communion is encouraged to use this resource and develop a way to lead young people in their dioceses in this conversation.

The next triennial meeting of the IAYN will meet in the Province of Hong Kong in August 2011.
