Mugisa Isingoma reports on progress and challenges in the Province de L'Eglise Anglicane du Congo in respect of Millennium Development Goals 1, 3 and 6
In our province we are still facing many problems caused by the war, people are living in camps, especially in the east of Congo. In spite of the UN forces present in DR Congo, we are not living totally in peace, because people are still insecure. Here I am talking about Ituri. Militias are fighting against Government soldiers. We pray that the new organization called MONUSCO (United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo) will do their best to bring peace in DR Congo. We thank very much the Archbishop of Congo, Isingoma K Henri, for bringing peace between two tribes who fought for a long period, through his program of reconciliation. Now people are able to work together. In accordance with the Archbishop’s program, people are living together because there is no ethnic war; several activities have been initiated so that people are able to stay together, to combat poverty, hunger...
