Next year the world church will be celebrating the Centenary of the World Missionary Conference held in Edinburgh in 1910. Christians from all over the world will meet together in Edinburgh and explore different ways of "Witnessing to Christ today". In 1910 young people were not well represented at the Conference, even though it was mainly organised by student Christian organisations, so Edinburgh 2010 is setting out to be more diverse.

There are already three ways that youth can participate, and for two of them there are prizes involved:

1. The Youth Writing Contest: Write an essay about one of the nine study themes of the Conference, submit it and get published online. The winner of the writing contest will receive a sponsored invitation to the Edinburgh conference in June 2010. See:
http://www.edinburgh2010.org/en/participate/youth-competition/writing-contest.html for details.

2. The Youth Multimedia Contest: Think creatively about 'The Changing Face of Mission', submit your project and present it to a global audience. The winner of the multimedia contest will receive a sponsored invitation to the Edinburgh conference in June 2010. See:
http://www.edinburgh2010.org/en/participate/youth-competition/multimedia-contest.html  for details. The deadline for submitting essays or projects is 15 January 2010.

3. Youth Online Consultation: Take part in the Edinburgh 2010 Online Consultation hosted on Facebook by the Edinburgh 2010 Youth, and help to shape an understanding of mission today. The first of three consultations starts on September 16. It focuses on three study themes: Foundations for Mission, Christian Mission among other Faiths and Mission and Postmodernities.
