A meeting of Primates in Alexandria, Egypt, has called on President Robert Mugabe to respect the outcome of the elections of 2008 and to step down and endorsed a call for the implementation of the rule of law and the restoration of democratic processes.
Primates took part in a moving discussion on Zimbabwe on Monday night led by Bishop Albert Chama of Central Africa and Archbishop Thabo Makgoba of Southern Africa.
