The 16th Diocesan Synod of the Diocese of Malaita has elected the Rev'd Alfred Hou as the Assistant Bishop of the Diocese.
The Diocesan Synod took place at Potaniu'u Village, Marou Parish from June 12th to 18th.
Rev'd Hou will be consecrated as Assistant Bishop of Malaita, at Fiu Cathedral, November 27th.
The Assistant Bishop of Malaita will be based at Afio in the Southern Region of the Diocese.
Rev'd Hou is a graduate of St. John's College, Auckland, New Zealand in 2004 and is currently serving as the Rector of Fiu Cathedral in Malaita.
Malaita Diocese is the most populated Diocese in the Province of Melanesia with about 40-thousand adherents.
