Archbishop of Canterbury to visit Anglican Diocese of Jersualem

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, will be paying a pastoral visit to the diocese of Jerusalem in the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East next week (25-30 January). The visit is being made at the invitation of the Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem, the Rt Revd Riah Hanna Abu El-Assal.

Dr Williams will visit churches and church and community projects in Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian Territories. He will also meet with political, religious and community leaders and those involved in peace initiatives in the region.

Dr Williams will be accompanied by Dr Herman Browne, the Archbishop's Secretary for Anglican Communion Affairs, and the Revd Jonathan Jennings, the Archbishop's Press Secretary. Also travelling will be Canon James Rosenthal, Director of Communications for the Anglican Communion.
