[ACNS] BBC Radio 3 is hosting online the October 1st live broadcast of Choral Evensong from the Mother Church of the Anglican Communion for the forthcoming week.

The service at Canterbury Cathedral includes Byrd's Great Service, Lassus' Fremuit Spiritu (Raising of Lazarus) and Bruhns' Praeludium in E Minor. The world famous men and boys choir is directed by Dr David Flood with organist Matthew Martin.

Special prayers for the Anglican Communion and the Primates were offered by the Revd Kevin Goss. The Revd Canon Edward Condry and the Very Revd Robert Willis, Dean of Canterbury, read the appointed lessons. The choir sang the Psalms for the 1st evening, nos. 6, 7 and 8, to Anglican Chant.

The BBC estimates that nearly a million listeners tune in each week as they offer Evensong from a different cathedral or major parish church.

The live broadcasts can be found at the BBC web site.
