[ACNS source: Shrine Media Office] The message of Walsingham will be heard in four key American cities next month when Father Philip North, Administrator of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, visits the United States to forge stronger links and raise the profile of the Shrine.

Walsingham, recently voted Britain’s most popular spiritual place in a BBC Radio Poll, is known as England’s Nazareth and American clergy and congregations are already keen to know more about its great history and tradition.

Father North will visit Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington taking part in 4 festivals and preaching at various special services, which are being organised during the visit.

The 18-day visit will also allow Father North to meet American priests who are already Priest Associates of the Shrine as well as to forge new links.

“It will actually be my first ever visit to the States so of course I am looking forward to it but it is quite a programme! I will be taking whatever opportunity I can to encourage our American friends and pilgrims to visit Norfolk and the Shrine,” said Father North this week.
