Take part in the Children’s Society’s countrywide Christingle celebrations and help us shine a light on bullying

Help raise £1 million to put a stop to bullying by taking part in Christingle, the country’s most popular Christmas service for children.

The Children’s Society’s new Christingle packs will be available from September. Call 0845 300 1128 to secure one.

Christingle services take place across the country in the run up to Christmas and aim to raise £1 million for The Children's Society’s work with vulnerable children.

A million people get involved in Christingle celebrations every year through their churches, schools and clubs. Each child is given a Christingle - an orange decorated with a candle, red ribbon, fruit and sweets. The Christingle season runs between November and February.

The charity runs projects across the country that work with both victims of bullying and the children who bully others. The Children’s Society believes all children deserve a decent chance in life and we want to get to the root causes of why bullying happens and to help all children who suffer as a result.

Graham Knight, project leader at The Children’s Society’s schools inclusion project, SHINE says:

"Nearly all of us have been bullied at some point in our lives and we know the emotional scars they leave. We’re working with the victim and the bully to address this. The Children’s Society believes that both need our support and we want to understand the reasons behind bullying so we can work to prevent it happening in the future."
