Easter Eve - 7 pm
I join with people everywhere, who, upon hearing of the death of the Queen Mother, offer sympathy to the Royal Family, yet offer heartfelt thanks for the faithful Christian witness the Queen Mother has shown throughout her long life.
It was a distinct privilege to meet the Queen Mother during The Primates Meeting 1995 when the Anglican Communion leaders met at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor. She spent an evening with the Primates and spoke to each one individually. Her memory will be a treasured one. She will be sorely missed by so many in the Anglican Communion.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
The Revd Canon John L Peterson
Secretary General, The Anglican Communion
