The Archbishop of Canterbury has spoken of his sorrow at the news of today's from New York. Dr Carey said "Our hearts go out to the people of America as, once again, they grieve. Our thoughts and prayers are with them." The Archbishop delayed his Presidential address to the Church of England's general Synod in order to break the news to members and to lead them in silence and prayer.
