The flicker of candles in the Chapel of Our Lady in the crypt of Canterbury Cathedral marks a special prayer time led by the Archbishop on the National Day of Prayer for Peace, Justice and Reconciliation in the troubled world.

Intentions included prayers for the people of the USA and those who lost loved ones. Prayers also were offered for refugees and asylum seekers. The day was supported by England's Church leaders. People throughout Britain gathered in work places, shops and churches for quiet and prayer on Friday 5th October.
