The Archbishop of Canterbury is pleased to announce that he has appointed the Revd Canon Dr Richard Marsh to be Canon Residentiary and Director of the Education Centre at Canterbury Cathedral in succession to Canon Peter Brett. Canon Brett retires in February 2001.

"I am delighted to accept the Archbishop's invitation to be Residentiary Canon and Director of the Education Centre. I believe my international work with the Anglican Communion, the World Faiths Development Dialogue joint venture with the World Bank and my ecumenical experience will prove to be a most useful base from which to develop the Education Centre. The Archbishop has asked me to set aside a portion my time to assist him and I shall be happy so to do. I and my wife and family are looking forward eagerly to living in Canterbury."
Canon Marsh is an honorary Canon of Canterbury Cathedral and of Gibraltar Cathedral. He is married to Liz and they have two children, Phoebe 12, and Sebastian, 10. Biographies of Richard and Liz Marsh are attached.
