This is the official report of MISSIO, the Mission Commission of the world-wide Anglican Communion. The report was presented to the Anglican Consultative Council's 11th meeting, held in Scotland, September 1999.

The main substance of this report is contained in chapters 3 through 9 with questions have been included for discussion and reflection:

  • The report's major theological reflections and insight on mission
  • A preliminary review of the Decade of Evangelism, with suggestions for the way forward
  • Discussion of leadership training as this pertains to the mission work of the church
  • Advice and strategies for successful mission, with reflection on the changing patterns and structures of international mission
  • A case study of one church's struggle to deal with its historical legacy of cross-cultural mission, with pertinent reflections from 3 partner churches
  • A collection of Prayers for the Mission of the Church gathered from around the Communion and a list of resources for mission and evangelism used throughout the Communion
