From: The Revd Canon John L Peterson
Dear Leo,
Having tried calling you each day this last week, I will now try FAXing and e-mail.
As with everyone else in our global family, I was devastated to see and read the tragic aftermath of the hurricane that hit Central America over the last few days. Please know that you and the people of Honduras are in our thoughts and prayers. So I can inform the member of churches in the Anglican Communion of the situation in Nicaragua, I would appreciate hearing from you as to what the situation is and what your needs are so the Communion can respond. Such devastation hits people on so many different levels and I hope that the spirit of care and community will help sustain your people.
Both the staff here and at Lambeth Palace have petitioned your governments' offices in London for equality in aid distribution.
Again, please keep us informed of the situation and know that I, as well as the members of my staff, are truly concerned about the situation that you face.
Know that this comes with my prayers that God will give to you the needed strength you need during this most horrific time. Please give my love to Diana.
Yours ever,
John L. Peterson
