he Revd Dr James Amanze, Head of Religious Studies at the University of Botswana, has been elected Bishop of Southern Malawi, Church of the Province of Central Africa. He succeeds the Rt Revd Nathaniel Aipa who has retired.

The Rt Revd S. K. Dass, has been consecrated Bishop of Hyderabad, Church of Pakistan.

The Rt Revd William Godfrey, Bishop of Uruguay, has been elected Bishop of Peru, Church of the Province of the Southern Cone of America.

The Rt Revd Isingoma Kahwa, has been elected Bishop of Shaba, Anglican Church of Congo. He succeeds the Rt Revd Emmanuel Kolini, who has become Archbishop of Rwanda.

The Revd John Victor Mall, has been elected Bishop of Multan, Church of Pakistan.

The Rt Revd Andrew Hutchinson, has been appointed Bishop Ordinary to the Canadian Forces.

The Rt Revd Karam Masih, has been consecrated Bishop of Delhi, Church of North India. He will succeed the Rt Revd Pritam Sant Ram who has retired.

The Very Revd Orlando Santos de Oliveira, Dean of the Most Holy Trinity Cathedral and Dean of the National Theological Seminary of the the Episcopal Anglican Church of Brazil, has been elected Bishop Coadjutor of the Southern Brazil Diocese, the Episcopal Anglican Church of Brazil. He will succeed the Rt Revd D Claudio Vinicius de Senna Gastal who will be retiring.

The Revd Mavatikwa, has been elected Assistant Bishop of Kisangani in the Anglican Church of Congo.

The Revd Canon Alastair Redfern, Diocesan Training Officer for Bristol Diocese, has been appointed Bishop of Grantham in the Diocese of Lincoln. The Revd David Shoji Tani, priest in the Diocese of Kyoto, has been elected Bishop of Okinawa, Anglican Church in Japan. He will succeed the Rt Revd Paul Nakamura who is retiring next year.

Other Appointments

Michael Barwell, director of communications and editor of the newspaper in the Diocese of Southern Ohio, has been appointed deputy director of news and information at Episcopal News Service USA.

The Revd Canon Gideon Ireri, formerly Director of the Church of the Province of Kenya Justice and Peace Commission, has been consecrated Bishop of the Diocese of Mbeere, Church of the Province of Kenya.

The Revd Ijaz Inayat Masih, has been elected Bishop of Karachi, Church of Pakistan.

The Revd Henry Paltridge, Vice Principal of Bishop Hannington College, has been elected Bishop of the Diocese of Meru, Church of the Province of Kenya.

The Most Revd Arthur Peters, Bishop of Nova Scotia, has been elected Metropolitan for the Province of Canada. The Province consists of the dioceses of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador, Central Newfoundland, Western Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Fredericton, Quebec and Montreal.

The Revd Mark S Sisk, Dean of Seabury Western Seminary, Evanston, has been elected Coadjutor Bishop of New York, ECUSA. He will succeed the Rt Revd Richard Grein.
