The Prince of Wales is supporting a £120,000 million Christian centre for London.
An ecumenical "Millennium Village" is planned for a nine-acre site next to Battersea Power Station in London, and is the idea of Holy Trinity Church, Brompton. The aim of the village is to provide a focus for the millennium celebrations and to establish a Christian community in London to serve local, national and international needs.
The proposal includes a plan for a multipurpose auditorium for 10,000 people which could be used as a Church. It will also provide national training and a resource centre, a base for charities and accommodation for 2,000 students visiting London.
The Prince of Wales has agreed that his Project Office, part of his Institute of Architecture, should advise on the project.
