The Moderator of the Church of South India, the Most Revd Govada Dyvasirvadam, has spoken out against continuing caste-based discrimination in schools and higher education institutions after meeting the mother of Rohith Vemula, a research student at Hyderabad Central University, who killed himself following “heinous” discrimination.

Welcome for Anglican family's new bishops

Some of the newest bishops in the Anglican family from around the world are spending the day in London as part of the Anglican Communion’s New Bishops’ course. Some 28 bishopsare spending the morning at the Anglican Communion Office before heading to Lambeth Palace for a meeting with Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.

Way of the Cross on US Mexico border

Anglicans from Mexico and the United States will gather for a cross-border Eucharist service on the day before Palm Sunday in a park that straddles the border between Tijuana and San Diego. The congregations will pray the stations of the cross with the last station at the border. The event is organised to draw attention to the plight of immigrants.

The Anglican mission agency Mission to Seafarers has teamed up with the North American Maritime Ministry Association to launch a new international digital centre for Seafarers’ Ministry. The MARE project will bring together a number of seafarers’ ministry organisations to deliver support, information and professional development using social media.

Protect the environment with a candlelit dinner

Anglicans and other Christians are being challenged to take enjoy a candlelit dinner as part of a series of challenges for a “carbon fast” during Lent. The initiative comes from the Anglican Church of Southern Africa and is being supported by the Anglican Communion’s Environmental Network (ACEN).
