The head of the country's tourism body says that visitor numbers are beginning to fall as a result of increased incidents.

The Anglican Church of Nigeria has launched a competition for composers to create a new anthem for the province on the theme of its motto from John 8:32 – “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” The new three-stanza anthem must be “properly worded and theologically sound.”

A task group has been appointed to “maintain conversation” among the Primates of the Anglican Communion as requested by the Primates during their meeting in January. The Primates asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to establish the group as part of their commitment to “walk together” despite “deep differences”.

There has been a sharp increase in the number of attacks on people with albinism in Malawi, leading to the Bishop of the Upper Shire to plead that the “barbaric behaviour” has to stop. “This makes me sick as we cannot comprehend the level of inhumanity and evil Malawians have become,” Bishop Brighton Vita Malasa said.

The Archbishop of Kenya, Dr Eliud Wabukala, presided at a “farewell” Eucharist at All Saints’ Cathedral in Nairobi yesterday (Sunday) ahead of his formal retirement on 26 June. Dr Wabukala received warm plaudits for his ministry and his fight against corruption as chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee.
